System Requirements

Required software

Docker Engine or Docker Desktop with Docker Compose.
Git for maintaining the sibling frontend and backend repositories.
A current Node.js runtime and npm when running verification or development commands outside containers.
A supported Chromium-based browser for administration and creation.
FFmpeg and Chromium are included in the worker image; custom images must preserve them.

Required services

Kinoder requires PostgreSQL, Redis, and private S3-compatible object storage. The supplied local stack provides PostgreSQL, Redis, MinIO, Caddy, and Mailpit.

Production prerequisites

a public DNS name and valid HTTPS termination;
persistent volumes and tested backups;
strong independent secrets for sessions, MFA/provider credential encryption, storage credential encryption, and token-ledger integrity;
SMTP delivery;
enough CPU, memory, disk, and bandwidth for concurrent Chromium/FFmpeg rendering;
provider accounts only for capabilities you intend to enable.

Capacity depends on concurrent rendering, generation volume, media size, retention, and external-provider behavior. Load-test the intended workload before selling production capacity.
