Local Installation
Keep the frontend and backend repositories beside each other. The current checkout directory names remain AvidsFrontend and AvidsBackend; the product is Kinoder.
Install dependencies
Run npm ci in each repository when its lockfile has changed.
Configure the backend
Copy the backend environment example to an untracked local environment file and replace placeholder encryption secrets. Local defaults use PostgreSQL, Redis, MinIO, Mailpit, and the gateway supplied by Compose.
Do not reuse local credentials in production.
Start Kinoder
From the backend repository:
npm run compose:up
This builds the API, worker, and production frontend, applies pending Prisma migrations, recreates the services, waits for health checks, and reloads Caddy.
Trust the local certificate authority once:
npm run tls:trust
Verify
docker compose ps
curl --cacert .local-certs/avids-local-ca.crt -f https://localhost:8443/api/v1/health/ready
curl --cacert .local-certs/avids-local-ca.crt -f -o /dev/null https://localhost:8443/
Open https://localhost:8443/. Mailpit is available at http://localhost:18025 for local verification and password-reset messages.
IMAGE PLACEHOLDER - Local stack Replace with healthy Compose services and the Kinoder sign-in page. Recommended size: 1800 x 1000 px.
