Database and Redis

PostgreSQL is the authoritative store for accounts, workspaces, projects, revisions, jobs, billing ledgers, Pages, provider usage, and audit records. Redis supports queues and asynchronous work.

PostgreSQL

Set DATABASE_URL to a protected production database. Run committed Prisma migrations before new application code serves traffic. Create a pre-migration backup and test restoration regularly.

Do not edit production schema manually to bypass a failed migration. Resolve the migration or application compatibility problem and keep schema history coherent.

Redis

Set REDIS_URL to a private Redis instance. The API admits durable jobs; workers consume queues and update progress, heartbeats, and terminal state.

Redis availability can degrade readiness. It must not cause the HTTP liveness endpoint to fail.

Operational checks

• database connectivity and migration status;
• Redis connectivity;
• worker queue consumption;
• job heartbeat freshness;
• idempotent retries;
• reconciliation of ambiguous provider outcomes;
• backup age and restore tests.
